Fangy's with 'Ken,Shane,Fin and Capn Calm.

I channelled my inner Grumpynuts today. This is the result of saying hello to Mother Earth when underpowered out of a gybe.Doh!

The plan was to go out with the QEII,Koncept 7.7,Delta 24 and sail until the wind built to the point I could plug in one of my vintage Missy's.

I ran into a couple of hurdles en route.

The first was a kazillion little crabs full of angry pills near the shore. It wouldn't be a problem with booties, but I love the bare foot thing and so had to play an extended epileptic hopscotch every time I walked out through the shallows.

Second the wind was the up and down like a hooker's undies and really difficult to string anything together.

And well you have seen the third already. The fin is a Wazzareject that I have been experimenting with. Admittedly the experiments were to do with leading edge shape rather than impact resistance.

But other than that, its always nice to be on the water so today just sneaks in as a Top Ten Fangy Day.Laughing

(Thanks to Shane for the emergency sail repair too!)

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU, i101/CASL52, Tushy 6.4, 30cm weedy

patchy wind today, but a great sail nonetheless. Rigged too small, so got a workout getting on the plane and even more so when i decided to get my CA out for its maiden voyage. wind filled in a bit mid-arvo and we were able to put the hammer down a bit.  Really liking the CA so far, but I think there's another gear to go yet. A bit shattered now - sore all over - mission accomplished! Smile

good to be out with Ratz, stroppo, Rod, Noel and John

Fun Sunday sail, with the captain, Fangy, Shane, and Fin. I struggled upwind with the windshift getting the best of me almost every time. Tried to get up wind to find some flat water but wasn't fun until I have up and joined Fin and The captain just out from S-bend. Had a great time eventually. Loving the flat water around the grumpy nuts marker.

Session at Fangys with the man himself, Shane, the fin, and 'ken.

53cm board, 6.3 KA race and Stretch's new fin a 50d 21cm weedy. I wanted to test it to see how it works with this combo. I'm very pleased, nicely balanced, plenty of lift, and only the odd spin out when I loaded it up too early underpowered. So next project is to change last weeks 20cm into a clone of this one.

had 3 gps's on today, the GW52 on my helmet for posting, and the xperia E and pixie3 for comparisons

here's their numbers.

           2s               5x10    1hr         alpha        NM          dist

xperia 31.344       27.959    13.481  22.899     19.166   88.322

pixie   30.839      28.058     13.587  22.629     18.943   88.396

Both the phones 2secs are false peaks, the pixie's looks very belivable, but the xperia's is more obviously suss.

My next trick is to wear one of the phones on my head, and see if that cuts out the annoying false peaks.

Woohoo Stretchy another PB! Oh wait just remembered you are a Hawks fan...pretty average distance really. 'Ken and Cap'n, nice work on the five scores too. Fin, I was thinking when I was walking out the last time, I hope no one is filming this! :-)

Great work Mobsters.  Fangy....that old Delta was in perfect pre-loved condition...now..what a train wreck!  And I too would like to see your dance....very similar to a rare condition that can actually be caught from crabs called pniptosis.   Tongue out

Great PB Strectch       plenty of miles on the clock.
