I went out with 5.8 just couldn't get i all together so came in after a couple of runs.  cheers

I cut my heal like that on an oyster a few years ago without booties. Never sail without them now even in summer. Worst part is having anasetic needles around the cut before the stiches. Incredibly painful. No sailing for a while.....
