Great to be back on the water, even though there weren't many gusts, and a lot of time was spent wallowing.

Had a drive to Boombas, don't know what Swindy did to the road, but it's full of potholes, the worst I've ever driven it.

measured a peak 15kt gust when I arrived, so rigged the 6.6, 53cm board with 29cm @ 45deg weedy.

Roger and I waited around a while for the 15kts to come back, as while we were rigging it had dropped to 5kts.

Didn't seem to be happening so I wallowed out for a "nature break" (if you've been watching Le Tour you'll know what that is.).

Wind  was strong enough for me to lean back in the harness but not enough to get planing, for quite a while. Then it picked up a tad and we both managed around 20kts. After a bit more wallowing, white caps appeared, and we had a few nice runs, both of us with 30+kts peak.

Point Grey, WA, AU pat F Race 140, FW7.8, fangy fin 24

Pleasant afternoon at boombas with the captain, just a pitty there wasnt a bit more wind. We got a few good squirts and on one of them I was seriously overpowered. The mighty fangy fin rose the board up out of the water and had a couple of goes at spitting me off the board. it worked well on the 140L 80 wide board even in the most serious of chop and showed no sign of letting go. Next test will be the 8.6 but I think that might be just a bit too much for it. Though it felt like the earths gravitational pull had increased carrying the kit to the water it didnt notice at all on the water, on sunday on the 120 I could feel the extra weight of the fin at slower speeds. The new fins with the core box I assume will be lighter and should solve that.  Good Job Ross.

Sorry I missed this yesterday fellas. I thought you two had got skunked over there! Thanks for warning about potholes Cap'n - I will be on the lookout for them tomorrow.

Thanks heaps for trying out the 24 in a wiiiiiiiiide board for me Roger.  I am a little amazed the 24 managed to hold on in the chop on such a wide board, but super happy that it did :-) By the sound of it, when the 28 arrives you will need to eat more pies to hold it down, or get busy at work with the angle grinder and put it on a diet instead.Foot in mouth

I disowned my English heritage a long time ago. Init

Defo the pie option.
