Hardie (35741km): Lot windier and choppier today, wasn't prepared to risk injury after yesterday. For those that sailed yesterday, the place was unrecognisable today. On the shore one time I measured 36 knots, another time I measured 38kts, and would've been stronger at times. Yesterday just seems one of those rare miracle days when everything comes together, and ya just have to be in the right place to take advanyage. I feel lucky I got yesterday.
Sammy the snail (29353km): Coodanup, WA, Fangland take 5 , what the week of goodness sessions I had there.. just blessed I have been!! I was there at 10 ish, I rigged up at 15ish!! Nice stretcher with Mike, then later Stropps, great way to close the door on the full week of wind we had!! Mike sailed like a champ, his mini rig looked nice and balance, it was great to see him having a ball, water for himself lol Good story Mike, good resume.. Joe, sorry you missed out, the wind became bit lighter, the tide did dropped a meter from your stick, made it very enjoyable.. Stropp timed it perfect, got prob the best of it with the tide, still some nice bullets coming through, as I got my best speed doing a run with him. Go figure what happen to that tide!! Same gear, same place, less wind, more water Happy days Iso85L, RSR5.4, weedy 21/45
Decrepit (54506km): Coodunup with Sam and later Strop, Fangy and Hardie gave their excuses. Wind was stronger than I expected, Hardie said to go fast I needed the 4.4 koncept, and seeing a 36kt gust I agreed. So a quick trip back home, tossed up if it was a good idea to throw the 38cm speed board in as well. But Arms are a bit sore, and thought water starting the little board wouldn't help. So plugged the 19cm 45d weedy into the 43, and went for a look at the bank next to Creery Island. Got there in one tack, but couldn't find any flat water, so headed back to Wanjeep carpark. Reversal of usual tracks, 1 tack to get upwind and 5 to get back downwind, was just too scary to go any faster. Then Sam and Joe, thought they saw some flat water on a brown streak further out, so being the guinea pig for the day, I went out there for a look, but still no water flat enough for me to be happy going fast. The boys had strewn the shore with all sorts of tide markers, and it appeared to be going out, so Joe got his chair out and we decided to wait and see. Fangy arrived and said the tide was about to start going back up again, so Hardie went off to check out Liptons. I went out again just to have a bit more of a sail before conditions deteriorated more. That was good because although not flat by Fangys standards, I was able to go for a few bear offs. Conditins continued to improve and eventually Sammy came out and joined me. Then Stroppo arrived and I had a few lulls where the 43 just sunk and scrapped along the bottom. So decided to call it quits.
