A short sail with Anita and Fangy in light conditions with the wind picking up on Andrews arrival. Had to pack up early to get the kids sorted for school tomorrow. Frown . Fun session whilst it lasted. Manta 66 Vapor 7.1 cl delta 20

I'd like to say it was a crusiy session, but the gusty conditions made for an up and down sail. Tuned gear to handle the bigger gust but found the setup sticky when trying to get through lulls. I'd be pretty keen to find out what ohters did to get the best out of today's conditions. Started on the 40cm Volt but found the board getting lifted in the bigger gust. Tried max downhaul and 38cm CL Sl but found teh board sticky in and out of lulls, gybes etc. Lowlight of the day was another stupid skipper trying to run me down crossing back from pt resolution. I gave him my opinion on his driving skills but sadly he may not have got the message between my expletives. Definately d$%#head of the day award goes to f#%$wit on the cruiser.

15 - 17 kn when I arrived, 17 - 19 when I finished.

Felt a bit underdone today and everything felt draggy. Not enough downhaul on the sail - my mast extension is not long enough! Had a couple of massive spinouts that were hard to get under control. Fangy and Pacey said they were having spinout trouble today also, maybe it was something in the water?

My fastest hour since March last year, and my 5th best ever. Would have been faster if I hadn't hopped off after the spinouts to check the fin had not accumulated a moustache, and I messed up one tack because my back foot was wedged into the strap (couldn't gybe because it was too close to the weed mat).

I couldn't really get the gybes happening today. I didn't fall off any but they were not as smooth as I would have liked. Didn't have enough speed going in. The port tack gybes are improving though.

First foil session and super stokedCool I had some good gluides and strated to gain a bit of confidence which resulted in some spectacular wipouts, funny thing that.

RRD 111; 5.75; NP wind gluide small, I am not sure if I need the medium wing

Late sail at Coodanup after everyone else had come in, short but very enjoyable.

Strange session wind wise. Planing most of the time but didn't feel like I could get much drive out of the rig. It was time to come in when the boom broke. Aluminium snapped at the front followed by the carbon fibre tail. Switched the boom to the other side to limp back.

F2SX 105L, 7.8M reflex, 38cm C3 venom and some new material for another board rack.

Thanks to Neil i got to loan the Silver Bullet 64, a dangerous manouvere after i loaned the 57, loved it and bought itLaughing

Todays conditions were a tad on the gutless side and the boats out the back made the water quite washy and lumpy so i found it a grovel at times.

Had a chat with Tim and his wise idea of changing to a pointer made a noticeable difference of getting on the plane easier, so a good lesson for those dodgy wind days when the weedy isnt needed.

The SB 64 is a great board, comfortable and solid feeling with no fear of burying the nose in the rough stuff. Would love to try it with a 7.0 when theres some better wind

Short arvo sesh at Peli.

M137 + 8.4 TR8 + 44 Vector Volt.

Really wanted to sail on the ocean today, but I was short on time, so I made do with a sesh at Peli.  Pretty lumpy with all the traffic, but I found a few nice puffs. Cool

Well done on the hour Anita. Funny you mention spinout today. Same for me. Perhaps it was unusually choppy for coods?

Mark, I have used that Fangy fin in all sorts of conditions including Melville chop, where I have used it a lot, and have never had a spinout with it before.

Maybe a lot of loose weed in the water?

Nicely done on the alphas - they were looking very slick to me.

Had similar poroblems with my Lockwood delta today, which is usually rock solid. Had a couple of extended spinouts, when normally it can be pulled back immediately. Water was mostly pretty smooth, so maybe floating weed was the culprit.
