The NM run near Port Albert. Forecast was for a straight Easterly but only 15-20 knots. Pretty much what we got but not many gusts to 20.
The wind was slightly ENE at the start and came around East near the end. In a small rain squall I managed to have enough wind to sail most of the NM bank near the end. It would have been perfect in 25+ knots.
Checked out a small natural canal on the east side of Sunday Island. Just a bit too short, but otherwise perfect.
The best wind was North of where we parked the boat as it came through directly off the sea up there. Further down you could feel it was softer until about halfway down the NM bank. I dont think you would notice it in 25+.
Fantastic sailing! Exactly what most would think was perfect fun conditions. We were just a bit underpowered on the gear we took.
We will be back for sure!
