4 categories

Safety Bay, WA, AU Slalom Round1, Reflex 8.6/Patrik 128/Tribal WS 41

Race 1, Went great leading for the first couple of legs then finished 2nd

Race2, Great start and 3rd round the first gybe but the guy in 2nd crashed right in front of me so couldnt get past and had to hop off and wait so finished 2nd last and now relegated to group 2

Race 3, Disaster!! I cut my foot on my fin waterstarting and had to head in before the start so missed the race and thought it was day over as the cut was really bleeding. Now relegated to group 3

Race 4, bleeding stopped so thought stuff it im racing. Got a great start and my first ever slalom race win.

Race 5, Foots bleeding again so had to find some tape and barely made the start. Found my arch nemisis Kenny was Just in front of me so had a great race with him. I only caught part of the session on the GPS as used it as a stopwatch.

Big thanks to Stroppo for lending me his spare harness line and Roger for carrying my 110 up when i thought it was game over.

Haa,  bit of fun at Fangys "bouncy castle playground" with a low tyed and faiding wind,,, but still fun. I asked fangy if

he still needed his mast, but he wouldn't let it go!!! ???  He thinks he can fixx it. Tee Heee  Tongue out

Had the f2 SXR-58, ka kon6.6,  55/23cm or is it 21cm now .??  Yeh, the tyed was low.

Peel Inlet, WA, AU

Out at Liptons for a bit of exercise. Not much water...  and also if there was wind today I missed it. Just about got planing in the straps once but had a fun bit of exercise and exploring the area on a very low tide.  A lot of crabs, rays and other wildlife about.

F2 SX 120, GPS 7.3

Small fin, not much water

JP SLW, NP RSR E6 7.8m, NP RSX MWS

Short session sailing with Frank today.

Bugger all wind onshore Dawesville bugger all out past Toms boat, overpowered in the channel.

Some nice flights but a bit paraniod about hitting something else.

Took a bit to tack upwind back to base.

Straight up; not a Top Ten day. The breeze started out on the gentle side and didn’t really change. I started out on the Barge Ka9.4 and managed to change it into some neatly rolled up plastic and bits of carbon…yet again.

I hit the water with Iain, and the now entrenched bazillion adolescent angry crabs and dogged uphill as high as I could manage to the top end where the water and wind were best. Once there, I had a couple of nice runs and even dropped in a quick visit to South Yunderup.

Just as things were looking like a Top Ten day might be on the cards, there was that familiar sharp cracking sound of my mast spontaneously converting to a three piece. I can now add a Gun 520 mast to the impressive list of brands I have broken.

Of course, for NufFin broken carbon in the water is like blood for sharks. No sooner had I finished swearing, the carrion consumer of carbon was happily standing next time to me asking cheerily if I wanted to keep those pieces. And just to make sure I enjoyed the very long plod home, NufFin then cruised up and down to ensure I at least enjoyed the session vicariously, if not in reality.

Eventually I got everything ashore and started back. The booties started to blister my heels and then there was a suspicious burning rubber odour coming from my chaffing thunder thighs and wettie. At that point Iain arrived and saved me the final km walk. Bloody good job Iain - thanks mate!

Now as I ponder what’s left of the 520, do I replace the mast or sell the KaR9.4?
