Wow, did I need that! Physio gave me the go ahead yesterday, so I took advantage of a half decent seabreeze, and tested me, the winch, the new 5.7 KA speed, the new helmet adaption and the simlified DIY2a GPS.

All worked with flying colours!

But I forgot that no boots needs smaller footstrap openings.

My best runs were the first two, out over the channel to Pt Grey, then back to liptons. But with feet slopping around in the strapsmit was a bit hairy. so made my way back to base to grab a screwdriver to shift the back strap, also added a touch more downhaul. Not sure if it was that or the wind dropped a touch, becuse when I went back out I was underpowered and couldn't crack 30.

Here's the motion results from my upper arm

CategorySpeed (kn)+/-Speed (km/h)
2 sec 32.686 0.197 60.535
5x10 sec 28.932 0.087 53.581
1 hour 9.883 0.005 18.304
alpha500 18.882 0.031 34.970
1852 m 26.088 0.023 48.315
Distance 25.646 km

The DIY2a on my head had better +/- numbers so I've posted from that.

Here's the tracks.

Merry Christmas! Nice to see that Mike was sailing again. Fangy, I think the timing of the Barge's death is a clear indication of what your Xmas present should be this year Smile

Thanks guys. I pulled up better this morining than I did yesterday morning, so obviously the sail did no harm.

Andrew, here's the DIY2a's numbers.

CategorySpeed (kn)+/-Speed (km/h)
2 sec 32.701 0.133 60.562
5x10 sec 28.965 0.058 53.643
1 hour 9.871 0.003 18.282
alpha500 18.877 0.026 34.959
1852 m 26.088 0.016 48.316
Distance 25.582 km

I'm sure if the motion had also been on my head, there probably wouldn't have been any difference.
