Holloways Beach, QLD, AU  Why would one want to sail off GI when there was perfectly good conditions off the beach at the mudpit....  NOT! YellYell

Met Tony "the Truckie" around midday and wind looked pretty reasonable out near the shark Buoys- but by the time I rigged up and got out on the water it all went to jelly as the rain clouds had closed in...

Got up early AM to check the wind reports- GI was reading 35kn+ with a fast moving tide today, so decided to pike out.  Very poor decision in hindsight Frown

Used the Jag 125, Severne 7.8 OD M2, Choco 42 expecting more...

Ripper speeds over on the island Dr Cam considering the conditions!- That takes a set of big Kahunas!! Cool

Mackay, QLD, AU

Little play behind a sandbar forming at East Point, needs more Eastely to get a decent runup, but if it keeps forming will be a nice low tide flat spot. Just gotta watch the kites cos they found it first. Used a Kestrel 20cm fin but there was plenty of depth away from the edges for bigger fins.

Green Island, QLD, AU.

Long frustrating day on the island .Big tides ,lots of water moving on the reef flats ,wind all over the place ,rain ,long wait after the tide retreated this morning . Wind was in the 18-28 knot range but mostly never quite enough .

 Used the Fanatic speed 52.5 tribal delta 16 /JP 60 slalom tribal delta 18 then SW 29  Evo 11 6.4 .

The Deltas are working really well in the super shallow water at around the 1.4m tidal mark .

First run was a 38.1  followed by a 39.45 so hopes were running high -then the wind started to retreat & the clouds moved in .

Waited 6hrs & went out again for the incoming tide  & managed to see 40.25 on the dial for the last run -caught onto one of those last breath gusts right at the end of the run ...SmileKnackered ...
