7m Od - WT64 - 32cm WT proto weedy one run
then 7.5m GT Turbo
Cold..It looked better than it was. There must still be a lot of fresh in the lake.
Rigged the OD but nowhere near enough , wobbled across , fell in on the gybe and got my head wet brr...came in , rerigged the big sail and put the neoprene hood on for the first time this year..
Patchy but still a bit more consistent than the usual NW. Learning where the lifts and knocks are sailing in that direction. Did a slow mo catapult on the first run with the big sail. they say you end up where you look..I was focused on the boards rail as I went and my shin landed on it.. OW.. Lucky I had the wettie covering my leg but there's still a gash and nice bruise.
It's surprising how many rocky outcrops there are on that side. The few times I decided to go in for a rest I had to dodge rock islands..
The first try of the WT proto weedy. I intended to use it with the 7m but the gusts looked a bit big for the 35cm so I left it in with the 7.5m.
Pretty impressed so far. I thought it would be too small for the 7.5m and I didn't lean on it like I do the bigger one but it felt rock solid. The few good patches I got the combo felt really good . I hate the loose wobbly rear end you can get subplaning with small fins but it felt normal with the WT. I forgot I had it in which is a good sign.
Due to the patchiness the water was a bit flatter than usual so it will be interesting to try it in the usual moguls.
Looked like it had come in more consistently after lunch but I was getting pretty cold so I didn't last long..A good workout..zzzzzzz
Cripes I'm looking forward to using the board in consistent summer breezes. It's going to be a total hoot!
Just me as usual..
I've posted the Norah graph as that's more indicative of the wind strength ( few stronger patches ) although the direction was NNW - NW.
