Melville Beach, WA, AU

Severne R8 7.8, Mistral 137 CL2 37. Fastest I've ever been on this rig. A great day out with all the crew.

7.0 M2; Patrik SL 110 + Tribal WS33; then RRD XF 98 + Vector Delta 27....Melville

Well that was eventful! .. A wing foil guy decided to gybe about 2 metres in front of me as I was heading out at speed...obviously I had nowhere to go and collected him. No injuries but my board got a nice ding in the rail...so had to switch to the 98 litre which was OK in the gusts butno good in lullks, so the poorn NM with a gybe in the middle.

Now I don't have an issue with people learning but these wing foils are becoming a real menace in the windsurfing area and before long somebody is going to get seriously injured.  I think a lot of us agree that the wing foil people should go further north between windsurfers and the kite beach...in that way everybody stays safe. Something really needs to be done!

Foil Session 41.

RRD Firestorm 120L with 5.0M Storm & then 4.5M Storm with 1400 Redwing Foil

Extremely gusty & lots of traffic, this time of brings out all sortsSurprised

Speedsters, Foilers, Dingers & a heap of kids learningTongue out

Walked miles to get across the sandbar to get out in the middle of the river to get some space but the wind out there was 5-10 knots more so I was overpowered on the 5.0M.

Long walk back to re-rig & wait for the crowd to disperseLaughing

Some reasonable foiling late in the day on the 4.5M.

6.5M T4 & 94 Cross

Rigged to big to stay out the back Surprised

And we already know what was happening inside the sand bar, hopefully it sorts itself out soon.Cool

Gave it up early but hey, had a lovely afternoon having a girly chat on the beach (pretty rare)Laughing

Glad you're ok Steve.  I saw the traffic from my car and promptly headed to the coast.

That’s quick on the big gear Jay. Steve it may be worth chatting with the winging crew of the dangers and self regulate before an incident causes regulation.

Mark, yeah it would be good if they agrred to move north a bit but I doubt that will happen...they seem to be a bunch of individuals mailny unknown to each other?

Yeah, I posted on the Wing Foil section on Seabreeze...and the guy I hit actually replied and said we were both at fault!! Hmmm...not sure about that bro!!! Anyway, my suggestion to them to move further north received a fair bit of support...we shall see....
