Great sail with Boz, Toby, Stretch and MC Hammer , a tad shallow at point grey but loads of fun.
Happy days

129 days ago It was a nice arvo in the weed at fangys. There was weed on the delta fin, and weed weed on the sail ,
up near the top. It did not want to drop of, so a dunking out at the outside run to flush it of.
Apart from that it was fun and warm in the water and great company too !.
Had the f2 SX-R 58, Ka kon6.6 and Muf Delta with skirt,,,

128 days ago Fangyland with a festive mob of punters. Big day for the latest FangyFin Flex Capacitor Prototype. In short, there wasz quite a bit to like, but I will write it up all proper like when I get a few minutes. I've got to sort grub for this starving mob here first.
AtomicFangy150 Avalon 7.0 , FF.WTF#3.
FangyFin first run good bad and ugly. Good stuff: I had no low speed issues other than in boat wake moguls. I agree with Flex in that the faster you are moving there is a feeling that the resistance to spin out improves. I haven’t quite figured out this one in my head yet, because I am not sure it’s solely down to increased lift. It’s difficult to describe, as it’s not so much a back foot pressure increase, but rather a feeling of stability. It inspired confidence hitting the choppier bits on a downhill, with no signs of misbehaviour. The fin has a big fat blowfish leading edge down low and will handle all sorts of angles of attack and turbulence without complaint. Reattaching the flow is easy and overall the fin is easy to live with. No sign of cracking or failure thus far.
Bad stuff: there are no glaring handling or performance issues, however there is payback for that fat leading edge. My first impression is that the amount of drag is too high for the degree of lift. I may be wrong here if the fin turns out to be able to push up into the higher 30’s of the speed scale. More testing at higher speed required. But atm compared to the smaller surfaced FF22, the lift is a tad underwhelming especially at lower speeds when pinching uphill. Once the low pressure side ventilates entirely, the fin lets go with the same suddenness as any other non bulb fin.
Ugly : the fin sits way too far back and needs to have the tuttle section moved aft. Rake is too low for performance in weed and is noticeably draggy.
Verdict: benign bit of kit that needs some more time on water with a smaller board and sail combo to push the envelope a bit more.
