Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Patrik F-race 120ltr - Ezzy Lion 6.5 - 28ff Well I guess the spot makes difference. My introduction to Budgy today. All round great experience. Much help from the very welcoming crew, and Huey was kind to us. At first I took out SLW and 7.5, it was sweet, then it wasn’t, only got one run on it. Couldn’t get it to go downwind as the wind picked up quickly. I’d love a crack at it on SLW in light winds. Got my tucker so I’ll wait and see for tomorrow. Hoping for wind in the morning. https://www.ka72.com/Track/t/521704

Well, we can not complain today. I did the first 6 races. Didn't have the energy for the rest or just to sail over to the sandbanks.

Anyway,  successful event and once again BIG THANKS to the organisers and volunteers...

16-23kts + ENE level 0.28 Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

 6.5m Turbo- RS2 ( 90ltres) - 22cms Atomic nuclear weed

 then 6.2m M2OD - 80ltre iso -  20cms nuclear weed

I had plenty of plans to work on for today but I was just too tired to do anything. I only had 2hrs sleep a few days ago and haven't caught up.

Took the bigger kit out initially and held onto it for 30mins but I was just too tired to manhandle it. Back in and rerigged the 6.2m.

Got back out and it had gone patchy. It felt like I'd wasted the session and the best wind rerigging. Yell

Stayed out and eventually it kicked in and there was some strong stuff. The level was down a little so there was a bit of flatter water up high but I got the 2 sec in the 6-8" chop.

Too tired for decent gybes and i have few new bad habits to try and get rid of.

I'm getting thrown around by the sail going upwind this year. I'm not sure if it's just it's so gusty, or  I'm not fit enough to hold my stance.

I'm starting to work on my bearaways.  I usually work upwind, get a gust, and go for it . I'm working on my crosswind and building my speed more there although I'm often hanging off like a sack of spuds ( especially if I'm tired)..Undecided

I used to hate the iso80 in small chop but the new larger fin has changed that. I'm powering upwind better and it's hanging in the chop well. I must have been underfinned before. ( 18 - 18.5cm).

I wanted to get 50kms although the body had had enough long before that. I rested regularly but still got 5/5 on the Garmin.

Good to see Dave enjoying his day.

Pete, Mick , Mike, Pugs, Macca , Greg K , Greg F , Nathan??, Dave, and probably some others.
