was short and sweet as stretch turned up and chased the wind away.

Coodanup, WA, AU, warp 5.7, missile 49 See pics 😀😀 Great chance to take advantage of sluggers injury and move past him in the battle of the queens. Great fun in the smooth water by the bank such a great feeling. Didnít quite crack the big numbers but thereís always next time 😀

Strop and Johnski were about to go in the chook pond when I arrived.

Put me into conflict.

Should I shouldn't I.

check, no birds in pond.

check, too early for migratory birds.

check, big storm surge covered the samphire banks a few days ago, any new nests would have been washed away.

Hmmmmmmmm can't think of any more negatives.

check, huge storm surge, mega chop, 35kt gusts.

Too dangerous to sail anywhere else.

Looks like I'd better put principles asside and join them.

So what to rig? New board may not be ideal, but it has to be tried, 4.4 may be great in the gusts, but I'm going to be underpowered most of the time.

So 5.0 on tight with 20cm @ 40/60deg.

Again it felt a lot faster than the numbers show, but it was magic sending it in some flat water.

wind swung a bit to the south, which made the run more square, so I tried it further upwind, which looked a better angle. But I didn't realise it was also in the wind shadow of some trees, and I couldn't get going. so the trick was to bear off away from the bank into the chop, not my favourite move!

Wind continued to die, so gave it away, and left Strop to grovel out on his little speed board.

Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU. As Ratz said, I chased the wind away. Lachy and I had a bit of a squirt, but overall an anticlimax. FF113/GPS7.3

JP Slalom 71, NP RSR e7 7.0m Pepe weed 27cm.

Bit of Slap and tickle this arvy.

Didn't hit the water till after the boys came of the chook pond for two reasons:

A) the wind was mental

B) I don't do the chook pond.

So I waited till it was less mental, which gave me a rather pleasurable 3/4's of and hour to have a play with the kiting crew who turned up.

Twas fun and nice to have a play.

When asked whether I would be sailing today, my answer was followed by the question "Are you a Man or a Mouse?", my answer was "squeak, squeak!"

Just photos today: I was looking after my boys this morning, which consisted of loading them in the car and taking them to see the sailing.  We walked out to the bird watchers platform in the Chook Pond and I got some photos with a long lens.  The guys were still a long way away and holding the camera still in the wind was not easy (should have used a tripod).  Any how, Decrepit, Jonski and Stroppo seemed to be having a whole lot of fun and with some severe cropping you can get the idea from some of these pics.  I hope the scores live up to the way it looked. Looking forward to your posts.
