Swapped between iSonic 50 and JP Freestyle Wave but fastest runs were actually on the FSW as the 50 needed just that little bit extra to really fly. Really happy with results on that board. Have to work on my rig flip to get a good Alpha. Was an Easterly and great fun on the bank. Hope Daffy and Matt have good times too - Daffy was blitzing the alphas again when I left.

The wind was only a couple of knots stronger today but was a better direction and steadier. I would say 22-27, mostly around 25. I got down late because of a Ski Club AGM. I skipped out early and arrive at dead low tide. Mat and John had some runs on the board so my plan was a few quick and rough Alphas and then some speed runs. The very first Alpha felt very sweet so I just did a couple more and headed up the the speed run. I was getting 36 peaks speeds on the IS87, 5M Koncept and TM speed26 and the water was very rough so I thought I would try the IS50/KA assy 20 combo. It was actually initially slower, not seeming to handle the chop as well, but eventually I got up the courage to let it all hang out and got a couple of 37's and 38's. Buy the time I got out almost everyone had left and this helped with the Alphas a lot. The gybes did not feel quite as good but the speed on the straights was better and I could pick my spot to gybe without dodging traffic and board wakes

Nice easterly - with a big hole in the wind, right in the middle of the run...
