Plenty of whitecaps on dam today.    The gusts were coming through as bullets...really pull the arms out of shoulders.    Big trouble jibing and spent a lot of time in water.

Used 5.9 Loft 02...first with Fatboy 120l...then with 90l RRD/AHD which has very little rocker and was handfull in such rough water....then used Lyns Screamer 105l with SL7 fin.    This was the best combo.

First up well done Herb, a couple of PB's and you did me 4 divisions Tongue out

I'll get Can's file Tue when he gets back Wink

Yorkey's was very rough with rain squalls, got my 2sec max in a squall, the rest of the time just powered up so I gave up, wish I had Herbs get up and go Embarassed

I got 32.17 on the dial and 32.24 using Trackpoint Wink

5.9 Loft O2, CA SL58 & 34cm Venom fin.

WOW am I happy with my new Carbon Art, I was worried about getting a slalom board for Yorkey's, but it just flys over the Yorkey's crap Cool A bit more fine tunning as I kept bouncing out of harness lines.

Nice numbers but how the hell do you get them when its as choppy as that? What was the wind speed?

Hi Pat, I've been sailing Yorkey's 16 years, I'm just used to it, it's not normally that bad. I'm never good at guessing wind speed, the 5.9 had plenty in reserve.

Thanks Chris.

Nice speeds Bob in that choppy soup.

Were you really powered up? i ask because your sail looks like it is outhauled to the max(very flat).

I like my sails flat, in my conditions I find it gives me good control which I think is important, also helps me get back upwind. I do see in photos most guys chasing speed have less outhaul but I think that is easier in flat water, but I could be wrong I don't really know. If any one has any ideas I'm happy for advice.

That same sail (no cams) has done near on 36 max rigged the same way on my old Gladiator but at Green Island Wink

Bob i would stronly suggest fitting an adjustable outhaul. It will give you heaps more range in your sails along with being able to trim onthe fly. They ROCKCool

Firie, will tell you what I did with the 02'S  when I get to the 35 mark, you will be OK til thenWink

Bender is on the mark, however, although I struggle to do any changes on the fly, I am usually hands and feet steering the bloody thing down the courseSurprised  A change on the turn however, works wonders up and down wind.

Ray from Burrum Heads Mob explained to me the advantages of the ajustable outhaul and I know they supply one with my new Blade (if it ever gets here) but I'm not sure I want to mess around with one Embarassed

Might be why my boy calls me a silly old bastard Undecided

Thanks anyway and cheers.

Sailed the Sandy Point Pit on a light day -got to see its huge potential -wind light 15-18 most of the time with odd gusts to 22 knots.Great Direction...Experimented with Naish Sp 95l 7.8 RSS then Isonic 50 with 6.7 rsr then Naish & 6.7 RSR.Every time I changed gear I made the wrong call !!Had 37.18 on the dial & a 36.22 10sec av but doppler has obviously brought it back somewhat .Cant wait to sail here in some serious wind .Loved the new Venom fins-played around with the 26 & 30cms.Enjoyed meeting Tom Chacko,Mal ,Ricky& Luca .Got to see the amazing Macquarie Speed Machine in preparation for action -apparently it clocked 48 knots after I left !!
