Last ditch effort by the Pit crew to bump MM to 5th in a very westerly gusty wind. Almost all the crew. Managed to sneek a run in during a rain squall and get my fastest run. If only it had gone a bit more south.

Not a classic 'ideal' speed day but not far of, again! The wind was WNW to W all day with just a few very brief swings towards the WSW. 260 degrees would have been the max though. Frown

Most of the sailing time we had 20-25 knots but there were bullet gusts to 30 up the north of the inlet. By the time we had a serious go at the speed run we were underpowered most of the time. Every now and then the wind would rise for a few minutes to the high 20's or maybe 30 knots. If you were lucky to be in the right place at the right time there were runs just over 40 to be had, but not many. We had 3/4 of the Pit Crew there today so it was great to catch up with everyone. Great to see Cam over with Tony as well! Smile

I started on the 5.8m 09 Koncept and IS87 with TM Speed26. Then moved to the 5m 09 Koncept with IS50 and TM45 V8. Both combos were super sweet!Cool

Highlights of the day:

1. Seeing Mat and Spotty hammering across the washing machine chop on NM attempts. Both had a different appearance.

Mat on his Missile was skipping and bouncing across the tops looking like a disaster looking for somewhere to happen. Surprised Thankfully he didn't find it. Cool

Spotty was on his big Kode was just plowing through it like a runaway locomotive. Spectacular! Cool

Not sure if either managed to get the NM in one tack but if they did they should be interesting.

2.Seeing all the guys just out having lots of fun and listening to all the banter and BS.Laughing

Get the HACKSAW out guys!!!!

Not the conditions we hoped for but yesterday, but its NYE 0630 and the wind is still blowin at  the Pit, the tide is on its way out, just waiting to get into a cold wetty and do some more damageLaughing

I did 2 NM over 29knts the 2nd peaking over 40knts the other 3 NMs were all over 28knts all done on the Kode112 with the wave fin.  All done in 1 run except for 1 with a gybe Daffy.

2009 5.8 Koncept was fresh out of the bag and feels super fine/light, swithed to the CA44 later in the dying wind and managed to sneak a couple of 40peaks and a 10 sec.  Gave up after the clouds did not up the gusts to get a good run in.

Great wind strength for the 5.5m stealth (most of the time).  A few degrees south and it would have been PB city!!  What a pity.  Good fun trying for the NM but looks like we haven't managed to get there on that one - yet.  Only got the one run in on iSonic 50 which is where the 2 sec came from.  consistenly bagged 36s on the JP FSW 93 with 28cm Select speed fin.  Great fun catching up with all the Pit Crew and others.  Maybe Spotty and Daffy will get out there again today and knock off Mandurah!!..

A good day, tired arms. A bit disappointed not to match or beat my 33.7knots from Dec 19th in much less wind.
