I have a lot of time up my sleeve here on holiday so reports will be fairly detailed I guess lol. So today wasn’t to bad day really. Finally got to try out my brand new KA Koncept 6.6 which I very luckily won through the challenge!!! And what can I say this is a fantastic sail!!! So much power and even in such marginal conditions like today it still worked a treat. So yeah as said before was very marginal, 3 to 8 knots maybe… so anyway headed out on the 6.6 with my 93L S-type and went okay, planning every now and again moving around reasonably well. Went on that for most of the session but once Dad decided to head in I took his gear off him and went for a bit of a cruise on that (7.0 Gaastra GTX with 158L JP Freeride) and was planning consistently and guess wot… even pulled off a few good smooth gybes (with quite a few shaky ones also lol) but none the less getting round them on the bigboard, cant be disappointed with that!!! Also stayed out for quite a while on Dads gear but unfortunately my last run I got slung forward half way through a gybe and just landed knee first on Dads board and punched a hole in it with my knee!!! We will have to do something about it for the rest of the holiday to get us through ha ha. Also had a quick spin on Dave Mossop’s 6.6 Koncept (yes we have identical sails, same year, same size and even same colour lol!!!) and his 115L iSonic and I have to say that I can see why everyone raves about these iSonics, they really are a great board to sail. Anyway a bit of a disappointing day for dad as he couldn’t get any real speed on his first full session with his new GPS in such crappy conditions but I’m sure we will get plenty more chances over the next week and a half… Dad took a few pictures when he headed in so might see a few of them on seabreeze. Cheers Bubs
