5791 days ago 2 categories Well another pretty good session today at the Goolwa South Lake. Last couple days have been to light and was unable to sail and was limited to bodyboarding so it was good to get back in the water again. When I first arrived today in was once again very marginal. Very lucky in the end that one of the guys there had a big bic techno with an 8.5m Gaastra GTX up and was kind enough too lend that to me as he couldn’t get going real well with it and knew I would be a chance because I am so much lighter (thanks paul!!!). So had a good few runs on that just cruising up and back pretty comfortably, good fun. Anyway so the wind soon blew up again so rushed into shore to get my gear rigged.
Rigged the 6.6 Koncept again (good sail, getting a lot of use lol!!!) with my S-type 93 as I have been and first things first I was up on the plane no troubles, very easy… unfortunately by the time dad worked out there was enough wind and I was going easy enough he was to lazy and to late in the day so didn’t head out the lazy bloke lol!!!
So yeah good day out. Wasn’t particularly easy sailing though due to the direction and tried to stretch the runs out as long as possible (about 2km). Couple banks I worked up again to try find some speed and you can see my runs to the right kind of zig zag a bit between the banks but really not an ideal day for speed at all. Getting better at it though and slowly getting closer to that 30! One more perfect day and its done easy I reckon ha ha. Pulled off some more gybes today also, and on the smaller board as well, so they coming along nicely and just need to get them better and better until I can plane right through for a good alpha!!! Also need some better conditions so I can get back up on the plane sooner after completing it lol. Finally starting to live up to the team name I guess which is good ha ha.
Cheers
