6082 days ago Frant and I explored the back end of the Barwon River today. Lots of walking. There are a couple of channels, but very twisty and narrow for any decent speeds.

6081 days ago 2 categories   Good fun exploring the river channel through the tidal delta where the Barwon exits the lake. Only trouble was my GPS battery died just as we arrived so I have no recording. Its pretty winding but could have some speed potential as its a 2 metre deep channel about 20 metres wide with (semi) exposed sandbanks on either side. Further downstream in the river proper the mangroves on the South bank are about 1.5- 2 metres above waterv level so the wind gets cut but the water would be flat- probably have to take up kite speed sailing to exploit this area although further investigation could be warranted. I reckon a mission using a speed boat like Tonys from Barwon Heads would be the go.
