Naish hybrid 110L, 5.4daytona, 36cm ? Should not have sailed as I had a sore back from carrying the drinks for M.B.M. Great to have 9 sailing at Burrum on a work day. Must have had something to do with the cyclone 300kms up north.Wink

Nice NM Trev, good luck tomorrow.Smile

Standby for Sean Obrien,s 6 PBs.Surprised

6.0m Gaastra Vapor
2006 Starboard Sonic 85l slalom board (haven't snapped it in half from jumping yet!)
Techtonics F1 Falcon 30cm fin (2mm grinded off the tip by one angry turtle!)

Not ideal speed kit; board is a little wide to really crank it, but it handled the chop on the outside markers pretty well. I think this board could do another 1.5 knots with a bit more tuning. Needed a 6.5m sail that day and probably footstraps one hole further forward to get more over the board with the track so far back.

That and the fact my cams couldn't rotate all day without 3-4 punch/kicks! haha.

Herby, I only tried to do 29.9Knts, if I did 30 I would have to buy new speed gear to get me to 40 knts &  then I would have to eat more to put on weight to get past Vando. The old age pension does not pay that well.Wink

Thanks everyone for an entertaining couple of days.SmileSmile

Cheers!

One day will definitely need to invest in some speed kit. I'm really quite useless at tuning boards for top speed, I'm always thinking of 'control' in big chop/high winds as that's the fastest way to tune your kit for slalom racing.

Think I could get another 1.5 knots out of that slalom board and crack 40! My lines were too long and straps a bit too far back (over the fin) ... considering I posted a 37 knot peak in 3m swells at Redcliffe a while back on the same gear ... hahaha.

Thanks for the invite up to Burrum guys... was an AWESOME day.

We tried to film some stuff up there but the footage didn't turn out too well. Here's a video from the Tuesday with french Julien and me trying to beat our speeds in 3m swells... haha. ;)
