A teeth rattler today in very gusty conditions. A real acid test for the new C3 fin which performed well. Waited for the tide to drop to expose the sand bar and get some flat water. Unfortunatley this attracted all the tea baggers which cluttered the track somewhat. (Have to give those crazy kiters some credit though for not jumping the sand bar when Martin and I where coming in!)
A great day had by all

5566 days ago 1 categories There were a few gusts up to 45 knots today, with quite a bit of sustained 35knots. This was westerly, which is offshore here. I went down to Awatoto for a few runs to see if that would work, but there's too many obstructions, and it was coming into low tide so I ran out of water. Next I went over to East Pier and went out there for a while... it had eased off a bit so I rigged a 5.5 ezzy, but when I got on the water it started getting gusty again. I was way overpowered on the 5.5, and the sea was so beaten up that I couldn't go faster than about 2 knots. Lame...
Way to go Martin and Chris for getting out up in Auckland!
