Third day of training speed in very big chopy spot Sabunike.

Unfortunately bad conditions yesterday for me to take part in the slalom session in Shimuni. Rain brought unstable wind both directionwise and speedwise so that the Extreme Speed One Hour Slalom Race turned into the One Hour Fun Race with lots of floating and overpowered speeding.

But today started with sunny morning and bora 20-25kts, rather constant in the race field. Getting up early after a party till 1a.m. did pay off every minute of it until noon. After that the wind dropped down because of the expected weather change.

Finally a sunny day in Shimuni.

What a day it would be if the race was held this morning. Nice clear skies, sun, bura 20-25kts...

Too bad the official race ended on Saturday, Sunday would be a much better choice...

Anyway, a lot of people stayed and surfed Today and filled the batteries.

I sailed with iSonic 111, RS Slalom 7.8, MFC fin 36cm until the forward foot strap fell apart; one of the inox screw broke in half.

Luckily for me the chop was not too big and I managed to come back.

Then I tested RRD X-Fire 105, RS Slalom 7.8, MFC fin 36cm for the first time. It took some time to get used to it, to adjust the foots straps , etc., but I just could not get into right position and did not managed to make some decent speed. I guess the wind was too weak...the board is really small and I think it will work much better on higher winds 30 kts+...

Later I fixed the foot strap on iSonic 111 but the wind started to die so we packed and went home.
