The first reasonable wind for many weeks! 20-25 knots of Easterly and a VERY low tide So low that I discovered sand bars 10m from the easterly speed run that I had never seen before! Thankfully, they were at least 30cm under water.

I went out on my Acid 74 wave board for a bit of bump and jump for an hour or so before the tide dropped enough for the speed bank. A 4.2 Kontrol was plenty of sail for some nice chop jumps and a few speed runs with a peak of 33.6 knots! Smile

When the bank became clear I rigged the 5m Koncept and took the CA40 with KA20 assy speed fin for a jaunt. A loverly combination! Laughing

A couple of peaks at just over 40 knots and  39.6kt 10 secs. Lots of fun!

After a while I went in and got the IS87 with Time Machine TMspeed26 for a few Alphas. The wind was a bit holey and I was a bit rusty at high speed gybes but it too was great fun.

I was very pleased to see my old mate Peter Smith (who built the speed tandem with me) out on the water for the first time in about 10 years. He was having a blast and when he tried my board and sail he was blown away by the advancement since he sailed last. Hoping to see more of him on the water. Maybe we will even revive the old tandem speed team! Laughing

Peter was one of the quickest and smoothest gybers I have ever seen. I recon we might see some nice alphas when we get him tuned in again and on some new sails!
