kato (38401km): A quick sail at Invy after stand by. Not a lot of water on the speed strip and had to go around a very shallow bit in the middle. Almost not worth sailing there any more due to the sand.
Ado (4489km): Fun fun fun
Sailquik (29906km): ![]() Quite a nice 18-20 WSW tuning 20-27 SW later. A few bursts of wind in the mid to high 20's but I would be surprised if it go to 30 knots even briefly. When the wind picked up it swung around a lot from SSW to WSW so it was a bit of a lottery to get a good run. Used 5m and 5.7m Koncepts with IS80.early. When we saw the black cloud approaching I got the CA40 with 20assy KA speed fin. Peak speed 42.25kts At the end I took the CA50 and 5m for some Alphas and got a couple of nice ones over 26. Very difficult to judge the proximity on the SW bank so I was coming back tighter than I needed to as it turned out. Good to see a few of the other Pit crew out as well!
Mr Love (6877km): ![]() Umm'd and aah'd about going to Sandy Point and in the end did a late dash. Nothing startling to show, spent alot of time on my big gear and only 4 runs on the speed board with Peters RS4 as he used my 5.7 Koncept. Missed the best wind sitting in my car hiding from the rain.Very enjoyable though and especially enjoyed Foxy giving me s..t about how fat I have got I had the same problem as Andrew with the couple of Alpa's I tried, my tracks cross over as I was sailing back too high. OES Slalom 106, KaRace 7.1 Proto, KA Slalom 37 and a few on the OES Speed 62, RS4 6.2 ,KA Speed 23 Assy

Peter Johnston (8890km): Good arvo at the PiT after some serious negotiating with family to get a leave pass. After a week of lazing about with family, eating and drinking and no real exercise I was craving the workout of a good sail. Just what the doctor ordered! Grabbed the wrong mast so couldn't rig my 5m Koncept I still can't keep up with the speedies in the team, but I'm working on it! Lorch Div S 63L, KA Assy 21cm, 4.9m and 5.7m Koncepts.
Stuart Eustice (315km): fun day - needed more wind
Koncept 5.8, KA assy 21, JP speed 45 - nice combo! |
