A quick sail at Invy after stand by. Not a lot of water on the speed strip and had to go around a very shallow bit in the middle. Almost not worth sailing there any more due to the sand.

Quite a nice 18-20 WSW tuning 20-27 SW later. A few bursts of wind in the mid to high 20's but I would be surprised if it go to 30 knots even briefly.

When the wind picked up it swung around a lot from SSW to WSW so it was a bit of a lottery to get a good run.

Used 5m and 5.7m Koncepts with IS80.early. When we saw the black cloud approaching I got the CA40 with 20assy KA speed fin. Peak speed 42.25kts

At the end I took the CA50 and 5m for some Alphas and got a couple of nice ones over 26. Very difficult to judge the proximity on the SW bank so I was coming back tighter than I needed to as it turned out.

Good to see a few of the other Pit crew out as well! Smile

Umm'd and aah'd about going to Sandy Point and in the end did a late dash. Nothing startling to show, spent alot of time on my big gear and only 4 runs on the speed board with Peters RS4 as he used my 5.7 Koncept. Missed the best wind sitting in my car hiding from the rain.Very enjoyable though and especially enjoyed Foxy giving me s..t about how fat I have gotFrownand trying to stop me entering Maca's on the way home. All I had was a skinny Cappuchino!  I,m on the program now Mate , next time you see me I will be a lean speed machine!!!

I had the same problem as Andrew with the couple of Alpa's I tried, my tracks cross over as I was sailing back too high.

OES Slalom 106, KaRace 7.1 Proto, KA Slalom 37  and a few on the OES Speed 62, RS4 6.2 ,KA Speed 23 Assy

Good arvo at the PiT after some serious negotiating with family to get a leave pass. After a week of lazing about with family, eating and drinking and no real exercise I was craving the workout of a good sail. Just what the doctor ordered!

Grabbed the wrong mast so couldn't rig my 5m Koncept Cry, but Andrew kindly lent me his demo/proto(?) 4.9m Koncept. A very nice sail but not quite enough wind, so came back in after a few runs to grab my 6.2m RS4 when Martin kindly lent me his demo/proto(?) 5.7m Koncept - much better size for the wind. He was happy to use my bigger 6.2m RS4, which would have been a handful for me. The wind was mostly quite square on the run - SW - not enough WSW for really broad deep runs. As it was I sailed down past the bottom red bouy a few times. Luckily no rolling swell or woop-de-do's. Got close but couldn't quite squeeze more speed to improve my 2sec PB. Nice to pull my 5x10 up a little though.

I still can't keep up with the speedies in the team, but I'm working on it!Tongue out

Lorch Div S 63L, KA Assy 21cm, 4.9m and 5.7m Koncepts.

Agree with you kato.... that new sandbar bit half way sure does shorten the strip. Still, very nice speeds you have there! Busting my gut to break 30 there today without any luck Undecided

Great to see you guy have had some wind at last. I tend to see 40kts as normal  from you guys, that is blisteringly fast yet you do it regularlyCool

A series of 26 kt alphas and still not ideal for proximity are brilliant Andrew, judging the proximity even with a mark when gybing is something I still have not got the hang of so it is comforting to see it is not just me.
