Fun day on the Island.

Overall much better water conditions with less run/less chop /less rolling swells on the Eastern Section

Sailed with Toody from Green IS hire & we had a ball but limited time with reasonable water conditions-30-40 mins only before things got too shallow.

Wind 20-25 knots -still too much East in it   -CA 47 Venom 30 then 26 RSR 7.0 evo 2

Usual story -hoping to go faster ...!!!

Wow, Great numbers from Toody and Cam.....We had a high tide sail over the sandflats from about 10.30 am till about noon.

Good wind for us but sometimes we were standing up....I used 6.6m and Fatboy.....

On Tues 16th I monitored wind in morning and planned for a sail on speed strip for about 2 hrs either side of low tide....I rigged 5.9m

for the wind was showing 15 to 18 knots.....carried gear down to sand and then saw a evil looking front approaching from South.

Decided to wait and see and soon it hit, scattering fisherment and tourists in all directions...all I could do was crouch with gear while a blizzard hit...heavy rain was horizontal and visibility down to about 200 meters...whiteout looked a scene from "Shackletons Saga".   ..It

lasted for about 5 minutes and then nothing....no wind, but my gear wet and covered with sand.    ...Oh well....Thats windsurfingCool
