Adi (15022km): Karin, early morning, wind gusty, upt to 25 kt. In the begining iSonic 94 and NP Slalom 6,2, latter iSonic 111 and NP Slalom 7,0 Ah, what to say - after long, long, looong time, one PB! It was a great long speed run. That's good news. And the bad one is... Actualy, the day was so promising, until I hit the plastic botle and the rope attached to it. Being catapulted, smashed the mast, destroyed the head of the boom and had to swim half the Karin bay, back to the shore. Uh... I was planing to do more of such speedy, funny runs, and do some improvement on my hour, but... next time. I am lucky - didn't hurt myself, just made... ah, considerable damage to the equipment. It was great to sail with Jan after a some time. Thanks for helping me with repairing the boom! (Oh, I have to say that spare parts for my boom arived exactly 30 minutes after the accident directly in Karin - that I call the great service: thanks Ernest!) | ||||||||||||||||||
Jan (2971km): The very last day of my vacation :( with Bura and Adi in Karin bay :) Tested my xFire 105 for the third time.. still getting used to it.
Bura blew quite nicely and strong in the morning. Arrived at 6AM just to see Adi's first run (will post it on my You tube channel in a few days). The day looked promising. Bura 25 kts gusting to 30 or more... Adi started with 7m sail and soon switched to 6.2 and I sailed out with Warp 6.8 as it is my "smallest" slalom sail. Boy...it took some strength to hold it in the gusts but somehow I managed to deal with it. Anyway after first 45 min I went out and tried to fine adjust my xFire105...moved all the footstraps 2 cm forward (from the last aft holes to the second holes forward). In my second session it felt much much better. Incredible like a different board. I guess my weight of 95 kg is too much to be placed all the way aft so now I started to have better control; the nose went down, didn't have to push as hard and lean forward so much. I immidiately started to like the board more!
And then I realized Adi is missing ?! Started looking around and finally spotted him swimming back to the shore draging the broken mast. Auch! Lucky he didn't break any of the vital body parts :)
Afterwards the wind dropped down so we drove nothr on Pag to explore possible spots for more bura...

Vladan Desnica (6109km): bura in premantura, isonic 111 and loft blade 6.8 my first gps session this year, not so happy with it :( my equipment choice this time was a disaster - i reckoned the bura will start dropping, so I went with a larger combo. I could have easily been out on my isonic 86 and 5.6 m2. I thought i was going really fast, everything was on the verge of exploding, but the gps at the end showed 30kts max - what a bummer! :) oh well, looking forward to the next strong forecast (none to bee seen in the near future though), i got to improve these numbers here :) :) |
