Kyeemagh, South Ramp, 12 knots building to 16-18 SW-S

Starboard 160, Severne SSR 11m, C3 fin

I thought today was cancelled until it started to come in around 10am. I was on the water at 10:30 with the 11m, as it was about 12 knots and forecast to die off during the day. Well it steadily built up and after an hour I could have been on my 10m, but I'm too lazy to change sails.

I think I saw Craig over off the point at Kurnell, so I sailed over, but I didn't want to cross the shallow bar there, so I kept on sailing. Eventually I saw Andrew Rogan out there, but by that time I had done 90-95 kms and was well past my use by date. Sorry I didn't stick around for a few more runs, but the tank was empty, and I still had to get home to the top of the runway.

After about 80kms, I was dropping the sail so many times, but I wanted to stick it out to get to 100. Only just got there!

Ramsgate, NSW, AU.  16-20 SW-S

Starboard 161, stock fin, Severne Code Red 11m.

My seventh sail on the formula gear and I think my best yet (when can I stop counting them I wonder).  Made a few silly mistakes at first but then some things started to click, particularly in regards to sailing down wind.  Slightly different stance and hand grip made things a lot easier.

Great day for it.  Really good breeze, fairly consistent.  Strong at times but manageable.

As Mike mentioned, I saw him out there as I just got in the water.  He said he had been sailing for a while and was buggered.  I figured he'd done 30kms or so.  100kms is just ridiculous.  If they had a formula division on Seabreeze I wonder if this would be the record distance??  Well done mate.  Absolute respect.

5-12 WSW Taylors Point, Pittwater

Starboard Formula 160,  VMG K76 cut down, NP RSR 10.7

Little light wind session with Seano up in his neck of the woods. Wind came through southerly as we were packing up, but I had a rugby game & school reunion that I had to attend. Dame it!

It looked like you were having a blast out there this afternoon Andrew!

I forgot to add, I saw a sea turtle today! Big guy, 18 inches across. I thought I saw a log floating in the water, so I pinched upwind to miss it, and when I went past it was Crush from Nemo. Soooo coool! Just lolling around at the entrance to Georges River on the way up to Sandringham
