CR6.7, Sonic85/XFire102 Canefire34. Melville. Scratched around for most of the afternoon on the 85 without much joy, then switched to the 102 for a few runs - much more "in the groove". That weed on my fin must have really slowed me down....Wink

Really nice day out on the river (apart from the yachts coming close!)....8.1 felt really nice today...was looking for a good NM but every time I got on a good one, the wind would drop out at about 3/4 NM...grr...

A number of the team out....

LOC, RRD 112 reflex 7.8, 40 MFC, last minute change of gear, was going to run the 9.0 and 135. Ended up being the right call changing down. Had a good run and was just behind Recycle on the last outward leg. Unfortunately 1 1/2 legs before I had heard the uni pop, the ropes held well, 2nd best 2sec and 10sec just before final rope broke. I had spare ropes so I tied everything up and body dragged to the last outside boat mark. Small patch on the board will need a touch up but should be OK. The day was just not meant to be, the next day at the slalom as I tried to rig the 9.0 the bottom panel tore right across, so probably would have ended swimming what ever gear I took.

Everything balance at the end of the however. After the pub closed I managed to get 3 ( yes three ) hot french birds back into my double bed in the hotel for the night. Got to love Karma.

I demoed one of the Illudium ESMs last week. Not a bad bit of kit, but I don't really have a slot for it in my quiver. Very handy, though, for cutting a swathe through the Saturday arvo yachts. The one I tried was the PU-34; the PU-36 could be the one to get if your after bit more power.

Thanks Windy and Scott, Paul at second wind recommended trialling both the PU-34 and PU-36. Apparently each has its little quirks.  PU - 36 best for kites.

Well done to the SSiders in the LOC. Great to cheer them all in at the finish.

Great finish for Jesper in 3rd. Danny (6th) and Steve S in the top 20. Well done to Annika on hanging in to the finish hope  the crash damage was not too bad and that you recover soon.

Sorry about the damage, Darryl but it is a great story and photo.

Heard about your misfortune Darryl...bummer! But well done for giving it a go!

Congrats to all of the team who competed...you are better men (and women!) than me! (I'm getting too old for that sort of thing).

Great finishes from all...Jesper...fantastic effort (I knew you'd be right up there)...apparently could have been second but for the crash?
