Sandy Point, Vic, AU

Day 3 of family holiday Sandy Point .Finailly some wind ...!!

Rigged the rsr evo 2 7.0 & took the RRD 90l X fire for a spin .Heading home thru the chop my front foot slipped out resulting in the proverbial head thru the sail trick -panel 3 completely blown .1/2 hr later managed to make it back to home base & start again .

This time rigged rsr 6.2 evo 3  CA 47 & slingshot 23 .This combination was awesome .Acceleration from the EVO 3 is amazing .The slingshot balanced things nicely ,felt fast & was remarkably well behaved in the return run chop .

Sailing fitness sadly lacking but stoked with the session.

Ran into lots of the pit crew  & GAZ .

Great Day!!!

Sandy Point with two layers of rubber.

Kermit, 34cm chunk of G10, 6.4 Koncept............CA50, Delta 23, 6.4 & 5.7 Koncept.

Turned up to find Kato on his own and the wind a bit lighter than I expected. After 1/2 an hour or so the wind started to fill in a

bit more and it wasn't to bad. Happy with the 5x10 but wasn't making use of the gusts to get the 2 second up.

Edit; Surprised at the alpha. Checked and it was on Kermit doing a short run down the bank and pointing high back to the start.

Cam & Locky,

Great work and fabulous numbers.  Very jealous you guys are in Mecca at moment.  Cam, only 1.5 knots off your PB too.  How'd Gaz go?

Choco - Just a lot more of the sand dune at the start of the run blocking the wind. Just checked and the NM was from the boat hole bouy to the bouy at the end of the bank but staying out in the channel. You don't have to try very hard to go fast at Sandy.

Gaz, Congratulations on the PBs - Just need you and Cam to get 12 PB's today and FNQ should be looking sweet on the ladder. Wink

Cam, All dry here and I wish I was there too although I'd have to buy a wetsuit (or two).  Hope conditions are favourable today as well.

obi one tobi - At the moment I'm blaming your beer for not getting to 40. I've never seen my 2 sec and 5 x 10 so close before. Got to make more use of the gusts.

Snags - No chance of PB's today, leaves on the trees aren't movingYell

Well done Gaz, good breeze by the sounds of it. Cool

Story re Cam, I was some place on Queensland coast, ran into a sky diver school owner who asked had I heard of Dr Cam,? said yep why? Apparently this lad visited he Doc for some aliment, and came out 30 minutes later thinking, why he had never taken up windsurfing, and should do so straight away, according to Cam. Laughing  He reckoned the Doc lived and breathed the bloody stuff.Laughing
