Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

Great fun session today with Mick, Simon, George & Paul.  Wind was 10-12kts SSE with the occasional gust to 15kts.

Started on my wally and went for a nice long explore, down to Townsend Bluff and then back and out and around the far sandbar.  Was hard tacking up against the tide, it was running really quick.  By the time i got back the guys were out on their big gear and going alright.  Had a few runs on the wally and got it up to 15kts on the dial.  Came in and changed to a 6.6 koyote and grabbed mick's 136 JP Supersport.  Was a good fun sail into the evening.

Felt great today, not sure why... could have something to do with the lack of a hangover in stark contrast to yesterday's session.

Area 45,

Starboard 133, KA Koncept 6.6

Not too bad a sail on Meg's board. I was mostly underpowered and looking for more wind. 1st time on the Koncept and i can see why people rave about them. It's a great sail that I'm sure I can go very fast with. But, it's a bitch when you drop them in. It's a pain in the arse to waterstart in marginal winds and heavy as hell uphauling with the luff full of water.

LOCATION:   TREADWELL'S RUN- AREA 45

WIND:  S- SE 10-15 KNOTS

TIDE:  LOW TO INCOMING

GEAR:  Jp Excite 160, KA Koyote 8.2, 46 cm fin

DETAILS:  Good to finally try Area 45 on a SE.  Definately has potential, particularly the nice long runs along the mudbank.  It's looking like its close to a nautical mile from one end to the other and on slack tide is is nice and smooth.

Here is the track of my little explore yesterday - searching for a couple of potential hidden runs.
