Clifton Beach, QLD, AU wind SE 15-20 knots Gear RRD Xfire 90 C3 sting 34 RSS 7.0 E2

Best ever session off the beach.Solid wind & some relatively flat water in patches near the island.

Stoked!!

Wind was honkin' when we arrived at dam this morning.   Same old story, we rigged small sails and then the wind dropped out.     It did come back for a while, but I could have held a larger size.     Then it dropped out again.

I used a 5.9m Loft 02 and my 105l Screamer.....Good day with a few of the coastie boys up for a look.

Herby (14385km):

We had rigged up just as the wind dropped out.....After a while I decided to go out anyway and just wallowed for quite a while till some gusts appeared.

Wind was good while it lasted but then dropped out for most of the day.      I used 6.0m Gun Tempo and my 120l S/cross.

iS101, 7.0 Blade, 37 KA Sl - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU Wind SE 13 - 19 knots

Much better than yesterday with the wind getting slightly stronger towards the end.  Pretty happy with my 1 hour as it include about 5 minutes of slogging and two boom adjustments.  Saw a sail way down the other end of beach and pointed hard to find Darryl and Theresa from Burrum Heads Mob.  Had a quick chat and did one broad run home but ocean was extremely messy (high tide)

PS - Have I said how much I love this sail EmbarassedSmile

First up, like wow Cam, you're now the fastest beach sailer on the team, awesome mate Cool My goal is a 33 and you nearly got it, bastard Laughing

Lyn & Herby, I toyed with the idea of Kurrimine but took too long making up my mind, also toyed with the dam but being a long weekend pulled the plug on that too, was hoping Rossco would show up at Holloways. Yes very nice hr Snags, did me bastard. Great Nm Toody, my best Green is only a freckle better. Nice speeds for the ocean Gaz, shame about your file, bugger. I know Kel has done very well at Green today, I'm expecting big things when Cam & Gaz get there tomorrow.

I had an awesome sail today, so happy now. I wasn't too interested in numbers, just wanted to get my mojo back so just used my 5.9 O2, what an great sail, love it. But I was chasing the 2sec because I put the challenge out to Cam earlier (bastard) and hey I just love going for it through the swell and crap Cool

Kermit, 7.5 and 6.4 koncepts, Holloways beach.

Went out with the goal to sail over to green on the big board then use the CA53 at the island before sailing back to Cairns. Started off nice with the 7.5 until I got about half way where the wind was a lot stronger. Decided to turn back before anything went wrong and sailed at the beach with the old bloke.

GPS hasn't recorded all the tracks, missing about 25-30 k's.

Edit, found some more numbers on the gps

Great speed Cam. Leaving Trinity this morning the wind was fantastic and the water looked reasonably flat. assume that's what you and the others had up your way. Hope it hangs around for a while.

Firie. Good to see you had a good sail. nice speed too. bet that got rid of some cobwebs. Sorry I didn't catch up with some of you guys but found Cairns a bit of a rat race over the holidays and headed back to the boondocks. Great to see lots of the Mob on the water, bodes well for the next few month hopefully.

Hey Firie,

Very impressive numbers especially since you've been off the water for so long.  Great to see you've got your mojo back.  Amazing how one good session revitalises your enthusiasm for the sport.  Hopefully I'll get to have a sail up there with you guys this year (may prove difficult with the little one now though).

Great team session too guys.

PS - Good luck at Green tomorrow.
