lots of potential only got up to around 18knots at the most , most of the time lucky to be 15knots , runs are good a high tide and when the wind went southeast it flattend out best wind was from south and made it rough , will be back next big southeaster , worth the drive

Sailed with Mark & Maree. First sail at Old Bar. Wind was South To SSE. Took awhile for the wind to come in.

Love to sail there in ESE wind. Smile

BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO MAREE! on the 4 PB's.

Great work Mark on the Alpha PB. Well-done. Great speed on the IS speed board.

Good to read people windsurfing there and well done on the PBs. Last time I was there there were only kiters out. So a SE wind is the go? Is the water deep enough?

we sailed low tide to full tide , no problems , just need 25 knots from the ocean , northeast is apparently good , easterly gale forcast for the weekend , guess where we will be heading , well its a good plan , might happen

Would Old Bar be okay in a westerly? I don't recall any huge mountains in the west around there so perhaps it could be okay. It getting to that time of year so it might be the go.

Would be worth a look Karl, in a westerly. It's pretty flat plus there is a airport that is just to the South west of there.

Wasn't sure of the depth when last there a couple of years ago (plus a lot of kites out)

so went for a sail at Manning Pt in the nor-easter.

Good fun & flat water.

Sailed at Harrington as well over the last month and both spots have great potential , the sandbar runs at Old bar are up to 800m long , both times sailing there have used the Isonic w53 speed special and 6.7m Overdrive , wind hasnt reached 20 knots so looking forward to the first Southeasterly gale to come .

congrats on the pb's Maree and Mark. Looks like a spot with a lot of potential and no doubt a LOT of the Sydney boys will be watching with anticipation....I know I am!!!

There was another guy sailing there who moved up from Sydney last year. He lives now at Old Bar. He said he knew allot of the Sydney guys from Narrabeen Lake, plus Sam & Larko. Plus he said on a North East wind the water is dead flat and you sail the other direction behind the other sand bar. Only takes us one hour to get there. Smile
