Peter Cutts (6766km): Great day at Felixtowe - first time in the river mouth and a bit hairy in there ! hell of a current running out to sea - if you dropped the kit it would be gone forever - not easy getting upwind to the river and then up the river - so couldnt use my fastest kit - give my £5 fin a lot of stick in the shallows. but the old Axis went well . My new (ish) Tush X15 5.8 is perfect -- I love it - easy to rig an sail - used my 6.3 Simmer race later - and had exciting ride back downwind to the dip . got Spot record !! beat Steven Squirrel !! sorry Steve !
Ben Tilston (3051km): After going for distance yesterday and getting 100km's thought I'd push the envelope and try for 100 NM. Sun out and and NE wind a bit stronget thatn yesterday so rigged the 6.7. Covered a lot of the lake with a couple of trips to Whitwell for some hairy downwinders back.. Unofrtunately after 60NM on the dial and on last visit up to Whitwell the GPS ran flat so lost probably 5-10NM or so and therefore had to pit and re-charge. Went out for another hour or so but was pretty fatigued and therefore knoked it on head once I got to 75NM. Speed strip was almost firing - wind just needed to be a bit stronger and more easterly. Loads out from the club so good blasting with the guys. PB for NM!! Rutland / NE 20-25kts / Slalom IV 68 / NP RSSII 6.7 / Select Lightning 35
Rik Jones (834km): Awesome day sailing with a good number of the crew and feeling fitter after my initial 7m session yesterday. New board and sail going well. Â If only I could have found some extra power in the flatter water zone - 6.2m would have been perfect. Looks like easterly for tomorrow - not that sure how it works so will just have to wait and see. |
