Nice midwinter session in a rather blustery wind. I would have been fine on a 5m in the squalls but was only just powered up on the 5.7m in the lulls between.

Got down at about 11.30am to find Craig's car trapped in by the high tide and him sailing back and forth racking up NM's and KM's.

I planned to get on the water at about 1pm when the tide dropped but I found a flat tyre on my trailer just as I was about to leave so afier chnaging that I didn't get on the water until about 2.30pm. It was a fun session though until my finger tips and toes started to feel a bit wooden. Yell

I sailed for a couple of hours but had to back up the fin a few times to lose weed which impacted on my 1 hour. Reasonable happy with the result given the winter conditions.

Today was part two of my all time dream day. I,ve always wanted to Snowboard one day and Windsurf the next, but thought that i would have to go to Maui or The Gorge. Yesterday i was boarding with the family at Hotham, bombing into Gun Barrel and Pipe Line. Man it was cold, frozen fingers from filming the kids skiing. But the snow was brillant. Day two after 9hrs of driving was sailing at the Pit, had to "Gorilla" it today as the 5.7 hasn,t arrived back from the repairer. Max down haul and outhaul was the order for the day , a 25-30wsw would make it interesting Tongue out High tide for most of the day which was great fun chasing the swell lines all the way to the cabins and back (5 km runs) Daffy joined in once the tide dropped enough to let his car in. Chased him around for another 1 or 2 untill i ran out of puff. Great end to my dream. Beer time Laughing

Great work - That'll round out the numbers from Sunday nicely.  Only 45 k's short of 10000ks too Kato.

PS - Just noticed Spotty has been confirmed as the new GPSSS 10Sec World Record holder with 47.58knots.

Hey Kato,

Come over to Christchurch and you can do both sports on the same day. Plus you don't have the 9 hr drive and I'll bet we can lay on even colder conditions.

Mike ,it was warmer in the water at the Pit than on the slopes. I do remember boarding at Mt Hutt when it was windy and cold and wouldn,t even think about getting into the water. That can be your dream day Wink
