Larko (11468km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU Awesome day at the Pit today, Crystal clear water, sunny (with the odd rainy squall) and just run after run down the course. Bit light at first so went with the 7.0 but ended up being the right size until later in the day when way too big. Daffy said there was 60 knots gusts during the night at the Prom which is prob why we thought the roof was gonna lift off at 2am. Ended up doing runs with Rexy, Luca and the local boys who were doing big runs up into the channel and was so nice going from the green buoys, going upwind towards the bank and then bearing off down the course, so much fun!!!! Ended up using different gear but was sweet as going down the strip. Kept going until the shoulder carked it but I dont care as it was just a blast!!! Falcon 99 & 121, RSR Evo III 7.0, Talon 36 & 40. | ||||||||||||||||||
Sick_em_rex (12256km): Sandy Point, Vic, AU In the immortal words of Jeremy Oxley from The Sunnyboys, I'm a happy man! Second day of sailing after having a lay day yesterday and I score another pb. Wind probably didn't get over 20knots at all today but I stuck it out with my 5.8RSR and Falcon 80 with a GPS Caspar 31 fin. Had an absolute blast for just over half an hour chasing Kato, Daffy, Matt, Luca and Larko in a pseudo slalom race. I don't think I have ever done as many gybes in such a short amount of time. Wind was WSW so a bit too broad for the strip but you still got a good run down it every now and then. I think I jagged one of the best gusts of the day to get the 35. To do the distance I did today and to feel the way I do I have sooooo much admiration for anyone that goes over 100 and to guys like Kato who does 300 +, well they are just freaks I don't care if it doesn't blow again while we're here, I have done enough to go home very very happy |
