4737 days ago After last weekends excitement at West Kirby !!! and with a good forecast there again but sadly our bank balance not stretching to another £100 for diesel I had to make the most of the conditions locally. As he wind was offshore it meant only one option - Levington but it was nearly low water before I set off after having breakfast in the van with Mag :) I launched out of the marina entrance and headed toward Felixstowe docks in bright, mild sunshine - a top day for December :) The strongest wind was on the corner by the marina but a swell did build up when the tide turned !!! I had several runs down to the container boats starting with a 20 kt run and peaking with a 27 kt max and was pleased with a 21.69 mile in the gusty conditions :) After one run to the dock I sailed past the last moored huge container ship as a much smaller one was coming up river to Ipswich docks but managed to sail in front of it !!! then tack and follow it all the way back to Levington. So a good couple of hours and so'oooooooo mild for December and great to be out with all the birds too ,when I got back to the van Mag was off walking and enjoyed her birdspotting too :)
