Road trip....

5.5 hours after work friday night and camping rough had us ready for Saturdays forecast at lake george. Jacques (being his usually impatient/excitable self) had us out at the spit and he quickly headed out for some rough water B & J on the big lake before I gave Jimbob a call and worked out that the other side of the lake is the go and the forecast will be better in the afternoon. Back into Beachport for some breakie and coffee and meet up with all the lads.

We then headed out convoy style out to the lake across the salt pans and all stood around waiting as the wind slowly started to build..

I headed out on my Ca44 and 5.8 Koncept and straight away felt great - really should have tried for Alpha's, and 1 hours but just had fun blasting around. First few runs had me on 37's and as the wind slowly started to build started creeping up until after one run stopped and the gps showed 39.97. Bees Dick!

Went in had some lunch and headed back as lunch boy for Jacques delivering him his no.1 ranking special orange juice pack and then followed him down wind for another crack. Accelerated in the flatter water and kept accelerating. Felt great and after pulling up saw 40.37 on GPS.... ABOUT BLOODY TIME!!!

After that ..was too happy to keep sailing and just retired to smile and de rig. Really should have helped my team mate out but was just happy to have such a great days sailing..

A meal and a few beer with all the crew at the Beachport pub finished off a great day...

CA 44, KA Koncept 5.8, KA 23cm sym

PS thanks to Jimbob for the use of his caravan.... I wouldn't use your toothbrush again after where Jacques had itTongue out

Lake George SA

This sail was without doubt the most fun and the best session i have ever had since i started sailing, the lake was amazing and the weather played the game as well, the focus this weekend was to get a 35 NM, but when i  got on the water it was so good i thought of got to do a 1 hour, but need to wear a watch, its very hard to guess an hou,r the last five minutes was me just cruising..  next came the NM  i had five NM above my previous Pb, 3 above 35 did a few alphas then went for some speed. Totally stoked with the day, awesome place and people, great community.

Big thanks to Jimbob who after only knowing him for a couple of hours, offered us his caravan for the night, not to many sports have that kind of trust and kindness.Cool

Met heaps of the other guys on the SA team, and the travilin Perks! everyone left with big smiles after this session

PS thanks Red for bringing me out a prima  the only thing i ate and drunk all Day, silly but it was really good!

Good to meet you boys.

Red glad you got the big four o.

Jarques fantastic numbers and top sailing.

I suspect I will see you again as I think Red left his favourite pillow behind on purpuse just for an excuse to have to come back.

Well done on the PB's.
