4687 days ago Decided to go for a different location , havent been a while since ive sailed thompsons beach but unfortunatly not that great very very gusty and patchy so was pretty hard on the speed gear . I guess we should have went to Wello would have been better but then again the forecast was to be 20 to 25 kts !!!!!
treid out the new speed fin , was not to bad but couldnt really judge due to the lack of the wind and could have set up the speedboard a bit better for these kind of conditions...
Again a nice sail with the crew , sorry guys about the shity wind ..

4687 days ago Spent all day practicing my gybes while Glynn was bearing off the wind trying to get peak speeds. Chuffed to have got some good alphas. Forecast looked better but I think that Pierre made the right call. Good to see Shano going really quick. Can't believe Vando and Pierre got going on their speed boards.

Good session with the guys. Not fully powered up on the 6.6 but starting to feel it.
Needed to man up and run down wind a bit but was a little shy after hitting the bank.

Pierre summons us all to vp it was his call it was up & down but was a fun day run out tide made it very flat I was a bit worried about the
depth most of the time but we never hit only once on a gybe but soft mud so no damage I recon it was only 50cm deep in spots.
Good time with the team then went to pub for a beer or 2 to finish the day wish we didn't have to worry about drink driving.

4687 days ago Wello Report- Nicely powered up on the 6.3 but very few of the MOB there! Cant believe you guys went to VP in a SE.
Stayed around till low tide but still no flat water for some real speed. Some nice long long, runs out the back that make the trip well worthwhile.

4687 days ago Good sail at wello, great wind, no lulls, it just kept getting stronger all day. Pretty flat at times.
However the severne curse, new 6.5 sail only used three times snapped the second batton, no crash no fall, just snapped?
tried for a while to improve speed but it was never going to be with a big ripple in the foil
Still better than VP though

4687 days ago Wellington Point, QLD, AU. F2 AXXIS 294, Nash Freeride 6.5, Goldwing 34. Last time I tried to sail this board I couldn't, But this time I had enough power to get it going. It is very slow, but cuts through the chop well. I was trying to bear off and get some good speeds but it did not go fast. I managed to get some gybes in the end, but mainly I did German gybes. It was fun day and I didn't overdo it I hope. Next time Tuesday in the flat water by the bar. Oh to be retired!
