Scott (5272km): Futura 111, Lightning 7.0 & FO Weedie 32 - The wind couldn't make its mind up but it was comfy most of the time, but was keen to get back on the 93. Came in changed down to the 93 and a 28 Choco weedie, which took some tuning (boom slipage wasn't helping!) and eventually I gave up! It was OK but a little upwind into the chop and it would let go, it was also like push starting a car to get it on the plane! Took a lunch break at 3ish (pie and gatorade!), changed to a 30 weedie and went back out for more tuning. Felt heaps better and the the wind picked up to match! Hmm the 7 is well powered and this chop is getting sharp, so stayed out over the far side for some nice runs in the "flattish" water. Which was great but the wind was getting stronger and I knew the 7 would be "fun" on the way home and then all of a sudden I was sailing by myself! OK time for that over powered run through the chop which actually turned out fine and the fin held all the way. Nice end to the weekend.
Nelson d Foiler (31390km): Mandurah, Exocet Cross 104 and 84L with 6.4 Koncept & 32cm LE Weedy then 29cm Select Best day in so long, should make the effort more often when there's a hint of Easterly. The locals reckon it was choppy but compared to the river it was magic It filled in around 5:00 & then it got choppy Had a nice drag race with the Bendy man on my only really powered up run while the rest of the mob were still there, there rally is no substitute for Horse Power, he was on a 7.8M Pretty happy with the numbers as they are on par with what the locals were doing. Great day PB MAYBE Yes it's been a while.
