After seeing all the Lake George number crunching hype and pending forecast, left Esperance on Sat at 0730pm after a nice wavesail to get km's on the clock to arrive in time for Monday forecast.   2560 kms and 39 hours (including 9hrs sleep) I get to LG and meet Choco and he ask's us how the trip was.It it took me a minute to put a few words together, I was a bit spaced out and suffering from cabin fever and we all had a laugh as I tried to gather my thoughts and rig the 5.8.

Luckily Choco kindly lent us his AB 78L with Ka23 Sym, my Ka21.5 and 44 was en-route with Daffy and Kato who kindly turned my hose upside down looking for it in the wee hours on their way over from Vico, sweet!!

Refuelled the body and staggered around waiting for wind to swing a bit and kick in, then did the stagger out and body drag for around 300m before working out how to start in the fine fishnet snotty weed.   Got going and headed off to the other side so to speak wavering in the mirage that makes things in the distance appear larger.

Ab was sweet, quickest run was lit most of the way.

got to go update later........

Lake Goerge revisit. Kato twisted my arm! Wink

This was an unknown potential session as the forecast was for a SSW frontal wind. This means the wind comes accross the coastal dunes onto the lake so it was much more gusty and inconsistent. There were a few gusts up to maybe 30 knots but mostly is was around 25 knots. The water had risen like a tide coming in as the wind had blown the water down to the eastern lake. It was rising all day and when we left it was not possible to drive around the edge of the lake where we parked without going through the water! The depth also made the water choppier on much of this end of the lake.

I just had a bit of fun blasing around and trying a few NM's and speed runs as it was obvious to me I was not going to match last weeks speeds.

Board: Starboard IS50 with lessacher Duo speed weed 22cm. Sail: 2012 5m Koncept.

Daffy started to get itchy feet about a return trip to Lake George, Spotty needed a speed board and I must have been grumpy about missing the last trip due to work cos when I asked for the leave passes the boss said yes and so did my wife. The trips on!!!Tongue outTongue out

Left at 4.30am and was sailing on the lake by 3pm. What a bleak looking place, just a flat salt lake bed, stunted trees and lots of wind. Just my sort of place Laughing

Caught up with a few SA guys and a “lost” WA member who usually poaches our waters?Wink

Rigged the 5.7 on the Ca 40 and went chasing Nm, hooked onto some good runs through the chop but the LYING Gps said they were a bit short, so my best Nm only had a 41peak in it. I tried to find some flat water but found just Sandbanks and no water. That bloody weed and mud is very hard to walk through and you’re better off to body drag through it. By the time I worked out a course the wind had backed off and we were running out of time to get a pub meal. Back to the Pub to find Hammer and the crew, download tracks and talk crap. Just like speedfortnight.Laughing

Ca 40, Koncept 5.7,20 Ka/Loc

Daffy when the wind is SW to W you are a lot better off siling from the spit not out the end but from where the huts are.,

Cockies point is only the go in SE.

also the water gets blown from the big lake into the middle lake if not S to SE..

missed you guys as have been on 12 hour shifts.
