Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU....Had a wild session before lunch using 5.9m Loft and My 90l Gunny Runner..,.Have not been on this board  for about a year and it was a bit of a handfull.    Conditions eased off at lunch time and I switched  to Lyn's 116 L Screamer.     About 8 sailors out today on dam and wind kept decreasing till there was nothing. Beaut sunny day.    .....LTD....Living the Dream

KA72 - Green Island, QLD, AU

Wow what a great day at Green Island. Woke up to see only 15 knots on the reef, normally I wouldn't bother with that but it's been a very lean past 4 months, wouldn't have sailed 100K total. So with the promise of Luca making the effort, Billy's first trip over and the GI Guns already there I wasn't going to miss out. The trip over to and back from Arlington was a bit of  a challenge as my fittness level is lacking at the moment but a couple of long runs down over the reef made it all worth it, one of the best spots I have sailed. Check GE and it was a 12K one tack over and the furtherest we got from Green Island was just over 15K.

I'm very happy with my new Loft Swichblade, very easy to wack together and sweet straight out of the box, no more race sails for me. The new Red Rocket was also sweet as, I'm a happy chappy.

Lots of fun sailing with Billy, Luca, Mad Cam, Kel and the lovely Belinda. I had the GoPro so will do a short vid and post to Seebreeze in a day or so.

An absolute cracking day for my first trip to Green. Thanks for the loan of the GPS for the arvo sesion Belinda and Happy 21st B'dayWink. First time apprehension turned to absolute delight in the first hour. Casually watched the big boys rig up the big gear, thinking...HHHmmm, will I have enough in the engine department. But after not having had a sail for some 2 months and going over the handle bars twice on my first run out, my 6.2 was more than a hand full for the time being. Steady 15-17 kn with the odd 18-20 bomb coming thru made for one of the best sailing days that I can remember for a very long time. Good to finally get the chance to have a sail Cam, Kell, Luca, Firie and last, but by no means least, Belinda.

104 Screamer, 6.2 Sailworks Revo.

PS: I LOVE GREEN ISLAND. PPS - Thanks for the shots Billy GI - sorry we coulnt have sail with you, next time eh.Laughing

Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU 10-15 kn mostly 10 !! Beautiful sunny day and water still nice and warm.

Well it has been a long time! After 2 lots of back surgery and a busted shoulder it has been about 10 months since I was on the water. Thought I would play it safe and try the Dam. 7 of us today at the Dam -Ian,Herb,Lin,Clem, Jill, Hans, and yes Hans was going like the "clappers". The wind was just ok, mind you did not expect any wind on the Dam today from the chart. Hope to sail with some of the other team members through the year.

Great to see you guys getting some early trade winds.  Makes up for the crap summer you've had way up north.  Lovely Nm Cam and Firie and a shame James didn't have two GPS's on him today to ratify the world GPSSS record Wink

Hey Herb, good to hear that Lyn and yourself have arrived home safe and sound. Decided to make the trip over to GI on Friday - all week hoping like buggery that the forecast would hold out. Was well worth it and bit a bit of management I hope to make few more trips this year. Slowly feeling my self heading in the right direction and improoving. The lads have had a couple of really good days up on the dam, whilst you guys were down south. Not attempting to push them too far just yet, hopefully I have planted the seed and in a few years we can all be out on the water together. Thanks for the start.

Hey Firie, I have the same SL58 & switchblade 6.8 - such a great combo (I run a 35cm fin though....)

I'd love to do a run out to the reef one day......

Hi Michael, this was only my 2nd time on this 58, I updated my old 58 and couldn't be happier. I got the 34 Venom fin when I got the first 58 as recomended by James, seams to work well. I use a 30 Venom with my Loft 5.9 O2, this is actually the combo I got my 2sec Pb with. I'll stick with the Swichblades now, quick and easy to rig on a skinny, rotates nice, easy to water start and I believe is competative speed wise, all good.

A two week boat pass to the island is I think $150, that's a bargain, bring a couple of mates up and stay at a backpacker joint. End of June might be best, do it Wink
