The wind was a bit on-off. But had fun flying over the chop with the jp82/7.8

It was less windy than expected and we wanted to try an hour attempt on our smallest 53 liter speedboards with 20 and 21cm fins. Didn't expect to do an hour like this, i think on the JP Speed 50 with a 23 fin gybing and going upwind is faster, this means there is some room for improvement. Also a little bit more wind will give us more speed. For the moment the fastest hour ever posted on this website, but maybe after Hans his posting not anymore. I think it will be very close. 177,84 points

PB on the hour big congrats to Jacques with the world record next time it wil be faster mate next time wait with posting i would have had the hour record for a few seconds. Didn't expect this Jacq asked me to do a hour then i said you are crazy on a speedboard i'm not the best jiber ;) After my first 3 jibes i was getting more confident and put the turbo on. Hour went pretty smooth wasn't overpowerd once and my fin was a little to small for upwind so was hard to get back to the flat water after jibing but had great fun and know i can do an even faster hour.SUPER STOKED!!!!! used 5,8 evo4 /45jp speed/20cm /C3 Slingshot

Congratulations!!!  Fantastic hours Jacque and Hans! Cool I now have a big challenge if Lake George turns it on again next summer - have to find another knot now. Smile

I did my 28.86 PB on a 46.5 cm speed board with 22cm Lassacher Duo speed 30 rake fin. I recon that is the right gear for me so 50cm speed boards make perfect sense for you guys.

What venue were you at?

Thanks guys. We sailed on Da Curve, you need to go there with a boat or waterscooter, so no option for us to change to a bigger board.

In total i made 24 gybes, course is 1,2 miles long. Wind was not really square, one way i had speeds up to 39 knots, the other way speeds up to 31 knots. But after the gybe in the "downwind" run you need to go upwind to the bank itself again and this is the moment you're average drops the most.
