4538 days ago Picked my trailor up from being repaired, loaded the kit back, my gps arrived in the post - thanks Tris - my mate arrived and we checked out the spots in Felixstowe. No one else about and with winds gusting over 30 mph and looking to go sw/wsw abit off at the dip Neil suggested we try Alton Water and I can't believe I agreed !!! We arrive to find sailors have rigged 4.5/5.5 but winmd looks very lioght and patchy:( So I can't believe I am rigging a 8.5 and taking the longboard out !!! Even by Alton Water standards the wind was very gusty and no fun at all, you just had to wobble across with the track back waiting for a gust which were sort lasting - I did manage to plan the length once and got nearly a 30 max. So again will give Atlon a miss in the future - fun fun in the gusty wind, rain and cloud :( Checked out the dip on the way home - didn't look any better there with the 6 or so sailors backing up and heading to the Fludgers as the wind turned offshore :( On passing the Fludgers in a down pour the sailors were sheltering by the toilets - lets hope for a better dayu tomorrow - a waste of a windy day :(
