Great day at Queens Lake. Joined by the guys from Foster today. Good to meet everyone. Hit the water with Mark at 9.30 and the wind was 15-18 Sw and extremely consistent. Just got a good hour in before there was a half hour lull, before kicking in at 18-25 knots. Headed down to the speed run and got plenty of good runs on fairly flat water. Cold and tired at 12.30 so came in spent a couple of hours talking with everyone. What a great day.Smile.

Used F2 sx medium, Gaastra gtx 6.5m, Jp 31cm weedy.

Hit Queens with Mark H, Steve Adam, and some of the crew from down Forster way. Great session, got to work on my dodgy gybes, had a quick look over at the famous speed run, then got too cold after 3 or more hours so got out. Was great great to meet a few of the Forster Maruaders.  I'll be heading down that way camping in about 3 or 4 weeks I hope. May meet some of you again.

PS- Got the data up-load sorted Mark, cheers mate.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU, JP 92 sl, overdrive 6.0, 30cm weedy.  Sailed with Phil, Mark, Steve, Dave, Daniel,AJ  and the Forster crew> Great to meet all you guys. I know we didn't necessarily turn the weather on for you, wind chill, rain and all that but hope you had fun. Thanks for making the effort. We will have to plan a trip down your way soon. By the way we will have to work on our baking skills as that biscuit slice was amazing!! Came at the right time too, refuelling those sugars.

All in all had a great day with a great bunch. One of the best for a while. Ashame Greg had to work and Mark J was boat racing as i'm sure they would have loved to be there.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU

Sailed with Phil, Mark, Steve, Dave, Daniel, Dion and the Forster crew (Gabe, Bill, Anton, Peter and Matt - sorry if I have forgotten someone or didnt get to meet you all) - 11 on the lake at once - a record?

I got there at 12.30 as Steve was getting out, and the wind was easing off in a big way. Should have used the 113 Falcon and the 7.8 which would have got my 92kg ass moving in a more consistent manner, but I opted for the 99 and 6.7 hoping it would come back in again like yesterday - but it didnt. ANYWAY.............         There were a few squally gusts and I made the most of them when I could. Happy to get the 5x above 30 again.

Good to be out regardless, and awesome to sail with heaps of guys out - to the Forster crew - thanks for coming up. I am hanging to try your speed spot and I promise to come down the next big wind we have on a weekend.

Rumor has it Gabe tipped a max speed of 36 today, and 2sec will be in the 35s - well done mate - super technique for sure after all your years on the water

Matt, I should have explained better. In your new subbie, put the passenger seat all the way fwd, then lay the seat back and take the headrest off, and the headrest off the back seat when laying down - creates a large flat area from the front to the back of the car - heaps of room in the outback when you stack boards in this configeration - can do up to 4 boards on one side of the car - saves stuffing round with roof racks. I only use roof racks now when i am taking the family and sailing stuff goes on the roof.

Queens Lake, NSW, AU.   Wind SSW - SW 15 -25k.

Took a while to get home and put up this post, but happy with the result. What a great day up at Queens! Glad we came up and got together with the rest of the  Marauders.Good to meet you all.Came up with, Matt, Peter, Bill and Anton. Thanks Mark, for all the info on the banks and runs. It was helpful to get oriented.

Bit cold, wet and windy today, and sail selection was tricky with the gusty wind. What else is new?Ended up with the SL104 with my new BP 38 weedy and Gaastra 6.5GTX.Went well today. I'm warming to that fin! Had trouble with the footstraps today, with new booties making it difficult to settle. Good to sail with a nice crowd on water today. Great photos too, Mark! They look nicely composed.

Look forward to catching up next time.Cheers everyone!!

Great to catch up with Mark, Steve, Phil, Adam and others at Queens yesterday for a good day on water. It is different to Wallis but it was a very enjoyable sail.

Fanatic 282 Falcon 108lt, 29cm finworks eliptical, 6.5GTX

That's better.  Found my first run, knew I did better than 31kts and 12 kms in distance.  Saved to card on the GPS and the whole day was hidden on the flash memory of the unit

Nice scores guys. Congrats to Steve and Gabe for getting some smoking speed to push us up the ladder.

Mark H, Thanks for taking the photos mate, well done - must have a good lens to get that close!

Technique question: Is my boom too high??????

Please please please guys, if you see me doing some shit technique please let me know. I won't be offended. i expect my technique to be shit as I am transferring what i know from all the years of wavesailing, which is not necessarily a good thing for speed!

Adam, boom height is better higher up for leverage in lighter winds, but if you have stronger or overpowered conditions, bring it down a bit. Actual height depends on how tall you are, and how easy you can get in or out of the lines, without them coming out unintentionally.Experiment!

That email Adam, vanished off my screen when I moved it to the in-box. The email address was right, but somehow it's gone. Anyway I'll send another one soon.

Cool, found all my tracks from yesterday.

Mark, Steve, Dion and Adam, great to meet you all and be able to put faces to the names for the Port crew.  Phil, sorry I didn't get to say hi but we would have passed each other on the water anyway.  Thanks Adam on tip to get more gear in the car, you can never have too much gear with you.

Awesome, a couple of PB's away from your home ground is great, thanks Mark for showing us where to go and what to avoid.   Well done to Phil, Dion and Peter on their PB's, it was great if you could hook up a gust on the flat water.

Old boards can still be fast
