Lyn (9418km): Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU Hot sunny day so after lunch we went to dam and rigged up. Herby and Hans went out and were mostly just dogging around and I nearly decided to give it a miss, but finally went out and was very pleased as the wind picked up a bit. My old 6.6m Loft 02 (carrying about a roll of package tape) and the 116l Screamer with SL7 37 kept me going.
Herby (14385km): Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU...Stayed out for 90 minutes and had very enjoyable session. I used 7.5m Zephyr and JP v111 and 40 cm Select. When I came in I just sat around and watched Lyn cut up the water. She was on fire. LTD....Living the Dream!!
Flying Dutchman (1852km): HAY INJOYT SAILLING MET HERBY AND LYN CLEM AND JIL JOINT US LATER JUST MY SAME GEAR AS YESTER DAY IT WAS NICE INJOYGEBEL DAY "HANS"
Squid Lips (2210km): Cervantes, WA, AU Hard work. Started on 6.6 and iSo 86 but after an hour of that my arms were falling off, changed to the 5.8 which was a lot more manageable out the back but had to be lucky on the gusts on the inside. At the end had a few runs on the Missile but I think I was too buggered to give it a proper crack.
Troppo (6331km): pretty windy day again for this years radar gun challenge up at cervantes. the last 3 times Ive sailed there its been pushing 30 knots. i got there pretty late as i needed to get some masts from jesper. initially i rigged up the 5.4 2013 ka koncept. straight out of the bag it felt really good and i had lots of control for 3 runs. first one was a 38 something and added a touch more each time unil i tripped up trying to slow down in the chop and put my body through the bottom panel rendering it out of action I went in and rigged the 6.3 race 2013 and had another crack. it was a bit more of a handful but felt good. nice and stable and slippery perfect for bearing off on the flat stuff. chris was kind enough to offer his 47 mistral which is basically a plug and play speed board that does everything you want it to. I still maintain the only way to beat him is take his board away so thats what i did. thanks mate. pretty happy to see a 40.93 on the dial after my 6th run of the day having not stepped on a slalom or speed board since fuerteventura pwa slalom. had a few more runs when the chopper came back out for the late session before thunder and lighting got the better of us and the wind switched off leaving us to swim in and de rig on the beach. my shoulder is feeling better after a decent over the hangers. chris was below me as we were racing for the chopper. i had one eye on him, one on the heli one on the sand bar approaching at 38kn as chris was pushing me up just didnt see that peice of chop and went for a bit of a rail ride before catching the front rail and kissing my arse goodbye. |
