Arvo session at Smellwood. Great to see so many boards out. Probably enough wind for the FSW but I wanted to have a proctice for the Bto B and the Zoo downwinder.  The Cheeky Monkey is out of action at the moment so I wanted to try the big Thommen Slalom board in 20 knots as I think this could be a good board for the B to B.  I never liked it, hard to get on the plane and not that fast and consequently it has been replaced by the F2 SX82 which is definitely a quicker board. However the Thommen is really good in the bay waves, safe as houses and goes deep downwind without any dramas, the F2 would be too hard in these conditions.

Saw a 28 on the dial but the 2 second was just shy.  Tried a couple of NM's but it was way too choppy out the back with the tide running against the wind, so a bit disapointing.

All good fun.

Nice speeds Martin, especially for such a big board. Was fun trying to keep up on a few runs.

You were hard to catch Evan, I was really pushing that big board in the waves and getting a fair bit of air try to keep up. Pity the Cheeky Monkey is out of action, need to do some investigation work this week to see how bad the damage is. I would have been more comfy on that.

It's setting up nicely today for a good seabreeze!!!!
