3993 days ago Kalmus, SSW 20-25 knots, training session for the Buzzards Bay Crossing on Saturday. Nice to see so many windsurfers - Dean, Bruce & Gerda, Martin, Drew, Nina, Tom, Peter, Ron, and a few others. Shalllow and flat between decently organized little waves. Forgot my GPS, but fortunately, Dean had an extra one - thanks for the loaner, Dean!
Tried the 3S 96 with outboard footstraps and double back straps the first time. Nice freeride board, pretty fast and comfy in chop. Best speeds with MUF Slalom Weed 30, but the MUF Delta 19 that I switched to as the water got shallower was less than 1/2 knot slower. Loved the Slalom Weed, though - takes tons of backfoot pressure, lets you forget that it's a weed fin. The Delta required a lot more caution, but was great to have for the shallow spots. Nina reported that one of the slalom guys out today returned without a fin, probably after hitting shallows..
