Stony Island Slicks, XFire 90, Koncept 5.8, BPF WS 28/23.5. Gusty and not as windy as hoped for. A bit of a late start, outgoing tide, and diminishing winds kept the session under 2 hours. Could have used a bigger sail. Still, very nice to sail some chitter-chatter water again.

Falcon 99, Koncept 5.0, Vector WS 25. 2nd time ever in a seat harness. Hated the stupid plastic harness lines, which seemed magnetically attracted to the sail. Had a hard time saiing back upwind and ended up walking a lot. Rainy and cold in the morning, a bit nicer when we stopped.

CryStony Island Slick (Nauset Speed Slick) has some great potential in a NNE wind. Unfortunately the forecast was way off, and we found ourselves waiting for puffs. This is the best spot for speed on the east coast.... if the stars line up just right. Peter Nina and I spent a couple of hours on the water, half of it standing, but still laid down a few decent runs in the crap conditions. We've paid our dues, we are owed a good day soon! Please!

Peter, congratulations on PB!

How do you like your Xfire 90? We're talking with Boris today about boards, he thinks it might be a perfect size boeard for our wind conditions and our weight...

Thanks, Denis. Congrat to your 40 knots! Amazing speed on the Synchro.

I like the XFire 90 a lot. It's pretty easy to sailed powered and to schlog for me (195 lb), handles chop well, and definitely wants to go faster. If  we had had 5 mph more winds yesterday, it probably would have gone 5 mph faster.

I have not sailed any other other slalom board long enough to have a valid comparison, though. I spend a little bit of time on an iSonic and a Falcon in the same size range, and liked both, too. Chances are you'd be pretty happy with almost any 90 l slalom board from the last 4 years. Just keep your 40 knot Synchro for the less windy days :-)

Thanks Peter. I was thinking to get a speed board, something around 75L or maybe a bit smaller, but I'm not sure if that will work for me unless I'll go to A-Roo-Bar or some better places. Even Pyramid lake gets to rought for speed runs when it blows good enough for that kind of board. Something like 85-90L might the best option there plus it can be sailed anythere else with strong enough wind...

I'll try 85L Sputnik next time, before I start my board search.
