bushfire (26346km):
4141 days ago Primbee, NSW, AU WNW up to 30 knots in the occasional gust.
The wind didn't follow the forecast, in that it started off virtually calm at 8am and built up during the morning. Reports from down south indicated 40 knot gusts, but not at Primbee! The water was quite low and the weed has definitely increased.
I started off on the JP with the 7.0m and was able to catch a few gusts to get planing. The wind was predominantly on the north side of the flats and the trick was to gybe before the wind ran out. As the wind built I changed over to the bf Centurio with the bf Banzai fin - interesting, but generally underfined.
I had a bit of a break then rigged up the 6.2 to go with the SB 49 and the bfBP 22/50 fin (for the first time). The fin was great. Not a great deal of upwind ability but very secure and felt fast. It was great to find some flat water - the trick was to hit a gust after a low wind period to get the best water. I think the low water helped also.
Great to catch up with Wayne & Nathan, and good team turnout
